First Class Flights For Your Favorite Fur Ball
Who doesn’t love their dog?? They’re practically family, and we tend to want to take them everywhere with us. Here in NYC, it’s not uncommon to see a dog trotting through the isles in stores, or lapping up water in outdoor seating areas of restaurants. While these types of outings can to be really enjoyable for both the dog and human participants, one destination that tends not to be much fun is the airplane.
The ugly truth about flying with your pooch is that in most cases, they just get stuffed in the cargo hold along with the luggage. That means that they likely shift around a lot, possibly getting hit by suitcases, and nobody checks on them for the duration of the flight. I’ve even heard some horror stories about shoddy cargo holds dropping luggage and dog crates mid-flight! It’s amazing that none of the airlines have addressed this until now! Well, Pet Airways heard our concerns loud and clear and has started to offer flights for dogs.

The dogs fly in the main cabin, and are cared for by the staff throughout the flight. You can even check up on how your dog is doing during the flight! There’s no option for human’s to fly at this point, that’s probably more liability than they’d like to accept during their start up phase. The fees start at $150 for these doggy flights, that will start providing service next month, between L.A. and the east coast, with stops in Denver and Chicago.
